Cross Movement halts promotion of The Ambassador

Cross Movement Records released a statement today announcing that they will be dropping hiphop artist The Ambassador from their label due to some moral issues going on in his marriage.

Here's part of the statement released by CMR

Dear Body of Christ,
It is with much grief, severe disappointment
and an overwhelming fear of the Lord that Cross Movement Records is sad to
announce that we will be discontinuing the forwarding and promotion of the
Artist and Minister, The Ambassador AKA William “Duce” Branch, due to recent
findings of moral failure in his marriage. It is CMR’s past, current and
prayerfully, future position that living in moral compromise is unacceptable and
never allowable in the lives of any of the ministers that we co-labor
with.

[Edit: Cross Movement has only stopped the forwarding and promotion of The Ambassador, and have not dropped him from Cross Movement Records as of yet. Apologies for any misinformation caused]

  1. Sad news, I pray he finds repentance from the Lord. I'll pray for his restoration.

I think you should change the title of your blog. The letter does not say that Ambassador was "dropped" from the label. The letter says that they are discontinuing the "forwarding and promotion." In other words, he's being sat down from his public ministry as a rapper to allow time for repentance and restoration to occur in those areas that are most important, namely his relationship with GOD and his family. I checked the CMR website and Ambassador is still listed as an artist which indicates that he may be able to return to public ministry after the LORD has done a restorative work in his heart. I commend CMR for the way they have handled this situation. I think that they are erring on the side of caution. Some things are permissible, but not always beneficial. CMR could allow him to continue ministering, but how would that serve the advance of the gospel with everyone's knowledge of his sin issues? I believe CMR's action is an attempt to prevent further stumbling blocks from being placed in the way of the gospel for unbelievers and believers alike.

I have heard this message/news as of today and I couldnt believe it and still dont. I have been not only touched by his ministry and his gift but I saw him as a public figure and someone in ministry whom I have supported in full for I try to pattern my life after those who are living for christ.I have also known him on a personal basis as well so it saddens me that this is an actual fact. I am not judging him by any means But I am praying for him his family and those in ministry/hip hop and those closest to him.

I will keep you in my prayers always.

PLEASE change the title of your blog! Let's not be SENSATIONALIST! The CMR website still lists The Ambassador as an artist. It is best to just restate the fact ("discontinued forwarding and promotion") as opposed to reading between the lines to draw a conclusion. I think some portions of the letter are written intentionally vague. So, there is room for interpretation, but the reality is that it is none of our business what "morale faliure" really means and maybe a formal decision has not yet been made regarding whether Ambassador will be retained to the label or not. Let's err on the side of caution and not lend ourselves to sensationalism, scandal or gossip. PLEASE CHANGE THE TITLE OF THIS BLOG.

we all fall shorty to what GOD has to alfer, where all human first, trying to walk like christ walks. some times we may stumble. we have to pick are self up at time and brush our self off too. why do your sin and have to set there and have people just talk about what you did. when you can talk about it to people better. who better to talk but you. thats where your deliverance comes in at, we have no heaven or hell to put that brother in we can not judge him only GOD can do that! when we start to play the judge then we are saying forget what GOD says. i'm doing what i feel best! shame on you bro! let that young man do what GOD called him to do. and GOD will work on him in dew time.

Who are we to judge him? In reference to the woman who commited adultery; Jesus had a few words to share with us all, "But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.""

Now stop throwing stones at our brother in Christ and allow him to do what God "The Father" has called him to do.

It is time to learn a lesson, he is a man just like us. If CHRIST JESUS sinned, we would be in bad shape. If only GOD have heaven and hell, it should be up to him to deal with the brother. We disagree with his actions and we should pray for GOD to restore higher than when he stood first. Amen
