In this interview Mr.Chomsky talks about the Tea Party movement, President Obama, the fallacy of war and “national interest,” the “free market” system, environmental destruction & nuclear arms being humanities greatest threat among a host of other topics. I can say that Noam is one of the few heroes I have on this planet. His words have just opened my eyes to how naïve I was to a lot of global issues. I love how he exposes a lot of the lies majority of people are brainwashed with by the powers-that-be. I wish he would talk about Africa more though, I would love to hear his thoughts on the destruction our continent has been put through. I'm posting this up because I think every Kenyan needs to see this film. Moving, powerful, inspiring, incredible..too many words. I went to a screening, and there wasn't a dry eye in the audience after the film. It is now showing at Prestige Plaza. I think especially young Kenyans need to see this because a lot of them don't know how far we've really come from as a country. Thats why it boggles my mind to think anyone would vote no and stick with the current (soon to be old)constitution. But that's a blog for another day. Go see this film. Hopefully it will be aired on National TV sometime soon..  Taking Root tells the dramatic story of Kenyan Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Wangari Maathai whose simple act of planting trees grew into a nationwide movement to safeguard the environment, protect human rights, and defend democracy—a movement for which this charismatic woman became an iconic inspiration. Here’s a shocker for you. I had never heard of Noam Chomsky until about three years ago; I hope that does not say something about my ignorance. But I happen to suspect the reason I had never heard of him is because I was never supposed to; it was designed that way. That I only heard of him because my father had travelled to the U.S while I was there and wanted to meet him says a lot. Though my dad never did get to meet him, it did pique my interest in who exactly this person is. Officially, Noam Chomsky is a Professor of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT , Boston who was born and grew up around the time of the Great Depression .
